Magnetic Resonance (MR) can inspect the inside of an object or liquid stream and analyze its chemical makeup. This non-invasive technology promises significant cost savings and better quality in industries using organic materials: agriculture, food, petrochemicals and energy.

Previously MR was nearly impossible to use in industrial settings as it was sensitive, slow and had a strong fringe (surrounding magnetic) field. It could not operate continuously and therefore was, at best, suitable for an onsite laboratory. Aspect’s proprietary innovations are the first to offer a low cost, mobile MR device, with no fringe field, which can be used:

  • Anywhere: in any industrial setting
  • Anything can be examined: from fruit and food items to liquid streams such as crude oil.
  • In Real-time - production line integration provides information in real time

Aspect’s MRI (imaging) and NMR (chemical analysis) systems are targeted at the agriculture, food and energy markets. They provide the manufacturer or refinery with pertinent information to allow better process control and improve quality and yield. Aspect’s system is a high resolution, compact system with zero fringing field, and operates at the right speed for integration into a commercial production lines.

Aspect's product is currently in use in leading US food and Agribusiness companies. Our new applications center, to be opened soon in Davis, CA, will provide a unique opportunity to test and understand our MR capabilities in an industrial-like setting.

Energy: Aspect’s system provides chemical and physical analysis of materials. MR is the only technology that can perform online inspection of crude oil and provide essential information regarding crude quality and compatibility. As a result crude blending is more efficient, oil and water separation is done more effectively and efficient product blending is enabled it also enables efficient product blending.

Food: the system provides essential information in real time, in areas where such information was limited to sample lab testing. A key application is viscosity measurement in non-Newtonian liquids (which comprise most of the pastes and liquids in the food industry and most of personal care products), oil and moisture analysis in foods, oil quality and more.

Agriculture: the technology can sort fruit and vegetables according to their internal quality. In current betas with leading US agribusiness players, the following are measured: seed count, freeze damage, and taste in citrus and pre-hatching gender determination in hatcheries.
